We do not require you to create an account or submit personal information to read our content. The information we collect is limited to:
Pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, browser type, and approximate location via Google Analytics 4.
Small data files stored in your browser by Google Analytics and Google AdSense (see Section 3).
If you contact us, we retain your address and message solely to respond.

Analytics data is retained for 26 months. Email enquiries are retained until resolved then deleted. We do not retain any other personal information.

WanderSteals is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted data and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Planning tools and optional measurement
Our trip calculators process your entered costs in your browser. We do not save or transmit those amounts. The currency selector changes display labels; it does not obtain exchange rates.
You can allow or disable optional analytics using the privacy controls in the footer. Your choice is stored in your browser. The controls set Google Analytics storage consent and keep advertising consent disabled. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals override optional measurement.
When you allow measurement, WanderSteals records daily totals for page views, calculator use and affiliate-link clicks, grouped by page, provider and placement. These reports do not store email addresses, entered trip costs, outbound query strings or IP addresses. Aggregate records are kept for up to 90 days. A salted, short-lived network rate-limit key helps protect the event endpoint from abuse; ordinary hosting access logs are separate.
Google Analytics may process technical and usage information under its own settings and policies. With storage denied, Google’s consent mode can still send cookieless signals. Affiliate providers process visits and bookings under their own privacy policies when you follow their links.
Email signup is currently unavailable. Our RSS feed works without providing an email address. Existing subscription records are not treated as permission to send new marketing campaigns.
